Record Description | The surviving remains of a twin log ore washer/seperator. Motor missing.

Additional Notes | This fine example of a double log washer/seperator unit was brought to its current location in 1966 in order to process the spoil heaps for baryte.
However, the spoil heaps were found not to contain economic quantities of baryte and the washer was abandonned.
The log washer was photographed during a walk to Healaugh Crag via Stodarts Hush.
These washers were highly efficient, requiring little power and capable of processing 25- 100 tons of ore an hour. |
